The report further shared the breakdown of the returnees, stating that 59 belonged to Lahore, 58 to Gujrat, 26 to Rawalpindi, 23 to Gujranwala, 10 to Sialkot, and one individual was from Islamabad.
FIA said the individuals had traveled to Libya via Iran and Saudi Arabia, and agents involved in sending them have been placed on the Red Book list.
Upon arrival at Islamabad Airport, all individuals were taken into custody and shifted to the FIA Anti-Human Smuggling Cell. They will now be handed over to different zones of the Federal Investigation Agency for further legal proceedings.

2026.5.25 Couple shot dead in Karachi after court marriage
KARACHI – A young couple was brutally killed in a firing incident in the Malir area of Karachi after appearing in court, police said.
According to officials, 20-year-old Nadia and 25-year-old Najeebullah had married of their own choice. Following the marriage, Nadia’s father, Aslam, had registered a kidnapping case at Sachal Police Station on May 19, after which police had also arrested Najeebullah’s father.
On the day of the incident, Nadia and her husband appeared in a Malir court and presented their marriage documents before the judge. After the matter was settled, Najeebullah’s father was released.
Police said the couple left the court happily and were heading towards a NADRA office in Saudabad when unknown armed men opened indiscriminate fire on their vehicle.
Officials added that a driver and another person were also present in the car, but they managed to escape during the attack. The assailants reportedly followed the couple from the court and fired multiple shots at the back seat, killing both husband and wife on the spot. The couple had booked a rented car to travel to Hyderabad.
Sindh Inspector General Javed Alam Odho took notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from the Karachi police chief, directing immediate arrest of the suspects.

2026.5.23 Lahore police arrest man for staging Rs180 million at own home
LAHORE – A man who reported a robbery incident turned out to be the mastermind behind in it after police launched an investigation into Rs180 million heist in Kahna area of Lahore.
According to police, the suspect, Adeem, a property dealer by profession, orchestrated the robbery at his own home to recover losses from a failed investment.
Preliminary investigations revealed that he staged the entire incident, taking advantage of his brother’s absence from the house.
Further details indicated that Adeem had his eyes on his sister-in-law’s jewelry. He involved his office employees in planning the theft and even provided them with the house keys. CCTV footage captured him handing over the keys, which ultimately exposed the plot.
The Kahna Police acted swiftly, arresting Adeem and two accomplices, and recovered gold and cash from their possession. Police have stated that investigations are ongoing and further revelations are expected.

2026.5.25 Death toll from Pakistan train bombing surges past 30, officials say
ISLAMABAD: More than 30 people died in a suicide bombing of a train in southwestern Pakistan on Sunday, officials said on Monday, in the latest attack claimed by separatist militants.
Two provincial officials, speaking on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to disclose the information, said on Monday the death toll had risen to more than 30. At least 24 people were initially reported as dead on Sunday after a suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden car into the train.
The car bomb hit a shuttle train carrying Pakistani security personnel and their families in the provincial capital Quetta.
Pakistan’s government and military have not released an official death count from the attack, which was the latest in a series of strikes on trains, security forces and infrastructure.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed the attack and described it as a suicide bombing. Reuters could not independently verify the claim.
The separatist group has been fighting for decades over the exploitation of regional resources in the mineral-rich province, saying that local people are deprived of their due share.
Balochistan, which borders Iran and Afghanistan, is home to Chinese development projects and the deep-sea Gwadar port.
The train was carrying passengers from Quetta’s army cantonment area to connect with the Jaffar Express as they traveled to their home towns to celebrate Eid Al-Adha, another official said.
The explosion derailed the engine and three coaches, while two coaches overturned, Pakistan’s railways ministry said.
Images from the scene showed burnt-out vehicles, overturned bogies, damaged residential buildings, twisted metal and debris scattered near the railway track, with fire and smoke still rising from the wreckage.
In March last year, BLA militants hijacked the Jaffar Express carrying army soldiers, and took hundreds hostage before a military operation ended the day-long standoff, which resulted in the killing of 21 hostages, four troops and all 33 attackers.
Earlier this year, Pakistani forces said they killed 145 militants after the group carried out coordinated attacks across the province, killing nearly 50 people. x1200
2026.5.24 At least 24 killed in Pakistan train blast claimed by separatist militants
A bomb blast has hit a shuttle train carrying Pakistani security personnel and their families in the country’s south-west, officials say, in the latest major attack claimed by separatist militants.
The explosion in the province of Balochistan on Sunday killed at least 24 people and injured around 70, according to three provincial government and security officials speaking to Reuters.
The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity as they are not authorised to speak to the media.
The attack was the latest in a series of strikes on trains, security forces and infrastructure in the mineral-rich province that borders Iran and Afghanistan.
Pakistan has launched counterinsurgency operations in the province after some of the deadliest violence in years.
The separatist militant group Baloch Liberation Army, or BLA, said in a statement to the media that it carried out the attack and described it as a suicide bombing. Reuters could not independently verify the claim.
The shuttle train was carrying passengers from Quetta’s cantonment area to connect with the Jaffar Express long-distance train when the blast struck near a railway track in the provincial capital, Pakistan’s railways ministry said in a statement.
The explosion derailed the engine and three coaches, while two coaches overturned, the ministry said, adding that security forces had cordoned off the area and rescue operations were underway.
A security official said an explosives-laden vehicle hit one of the train’s bogies in a residential area, and that some of those killed were residents of a nearby apartment building.
Images from the scene showed burnt-out vehicles, damaged residential buildings, twisted metal and debris scattered near the railway track, with smoke rising from the wreckage.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned what he called a “heinous bomb explosion” in a post on social media website X. He expressed condolences for the victims’ families and said the nation stood with the people of Balochistan.
In March 2025, BLA militants hijacked the Jaffar Express train, taking hundreds hostage before a military operation ended the day-long stand-off. The military said 21 hostages, four troops and all 33 attackers were killed.
Earlier this year, Pakistani forces killed 145 militants in a 40-hour operation after coordinated attacks across Balochistan left nearly 50 people dead, provincial officials said. x1200

Additional Sessions Judge Afzal Majoka announced the sentence under Section 13 of the Pakistan Arms Ordinance.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs100,000 on the convict and ruled that failure to pay the amount would result in an additional one-month imprisonment.
Today’s sentence brings the cumulative prison term to 23 years, awarded to Hayat and the total fines to Rs2.6 million.
The sentence comes just a day after the same court handed down a death sentence to Hayat, the main accused in the slain TikToker Yousaf’s murder case, and imposed a fine of Rs2 million.
In a two-page short order, Judge Majoka also handed down sentences and imposed fines on Hayat under multiple other charges.
According to the verdict, the convict was handed 10 years imprisonment and a Rs200,000 fine under Section 392.

Yousaf, who turned 17 a week before her death and had more than a million followers across her social media accounts, was killed at her home in Islamabad on June 2, 2025.
She had more than 800,000 followers on TikTok, a wildly popular platform in Pakistan, where she posted lip-sync videos, skincare tips, and promotional content for beauty products.

2026.5.19 Court gives death sentence to Umar Hayat in Sana Yousaf murder case
Court awards Hayat cumulative 21-year prison term under three other charges
A local court in Islamabad on Tuesday handed down a death sentence to the main accused, Umar Hayat, in the Sana Yousaf murder case.
Additional Sessions Judge Afzal Majoka announced the reserved judgment, also imposing a fine of Rs2 million on the convict, according to the ruling.
In a two-page short order, Judge Majoka also imposed fines on Hayat under multiple charges.
According to the verdict, the convict was handed 10 years imprisonment and a Rs200,000 fine under Section 392.
The court further sentenced the convict to 10 years imprisonment and a Rs200,000 fine under Section 499, while another one-year imprisonment and Rs100,000 fine were imposed under Section 411.
Overall, the court awarded Hayat a cumulative 21-year prison term alongside fines amounting to Rs2.5 million.
Yousaf had more than 800,000 followers on TikTok, a wildly popular platform in Pakistan, where she posted lip-sync videos, skincare tips, and promotional content for beauty products.
Sana, who turned 17 a week before her death and had more than a million followers across her social media accounts, was killed at her home in Islamabad on June 2, 2025.
In the previous hearing held on Monday, accused Umar Hayat retracted his earlier confession, terming the case a “blind murder” and denying all allegations.
He told the court that he had no connection with the incident and claimed he was in Faisalabad at the time of the murder.
The accused also alleged flaws in the investigation, stating that CCTV footage and witnesses were not properly presented before the court.
He further claimed that his confession was obtained under pressure and that he was not provided proper legal representation during parts of the investigation.
Hayat also challenged the identification parade, calling it unfair and inconsistent, and alleged that he was falsely implicated due to social media pressure.
The accused maintained that he never confessed to the murder and said all the evidence against him was fabricated.
‘Justice delivered’
Speaking to journalists after the court hearing, father of the victim, Yousaf, praised the judgment, saying that the judiciary has delivered the sentence in line with justice.
“We were waiting for this day for 11 months. The day has finally arrived,” he said, thanking the lawyers and media for their support.
“This decision is not just for us, but for the entire society. This is a lesson that if someone commits [such a heinous act], this will be their ending,” he said.
Meanwhile, the victim’s mother also praised the lawyers for presenting “a strong case”, saying that she was “happy to get justice from a Pakistani court”.
Call records, screenshots submitted
During today’s hearing at the district court, prosecutor Naveed Kiayani concluded his final arguments and detailed the evidence presented during trial.
He said the prosecution had produced 27 witnesses before the court and submitted medical and other documentary evidence on record.
The prosecutor stated that the accused was arrested the day after the incident and later subjected to identification proceedings.
He added that doctors from PIMS also testified, with medical reports confirming severe injuries and indicating that the firing was carried out with the intent to kill.
According to the prosecution, the victim suffered fatal injuries to the heart and lungs due to gunfire.
He further told the court that the investigation officer recovered the victim’s mobile phone, which helped trace the accused’s number, while the father of the deceased identified the phone from the case property.
The prosecution also stated that call records and chat screenshots linked the accused to the case, and the judge directed that the recovered mobile phone be produced in court.
It was further submitted that the accused attempted to dispose of evidence and was traced through digital and investigative leads.
The prosecutor also read out the statement of the victim’s mother, Farzana Yousaf, stating she remained at home at the time of the incident and later witnessed developments following the crime.
Eyewitnesses, he added, confirmed key details including identification of the accused and descriptions of the weapon and clothing.
The court was informed that the post-mortem examination began late at night and supported the prosecution’s version of events.
The defence counsel reiterated arguments seeking capital punishment, while earlier proceedings included requests for strict punishment by the complainant’s lawyer.
The court also heard that identification witnesses had not seen any prior images of the accused before the identification process.
The judge was informed that the prosecution had completed its arguments, after which the verdict was reserved.

2026.5.18 Accused Umar Hayat retracts confession in Sana Yousaf murder case
Hayat denies visiting victim’s residence, disputes CCTV and witness evidence before Islamabad court
Social media influencer Sana Yousaf’s murder case took a new turn on Monday as the accused Umar Hayat retracted his earlier confession by denying charges and calling her killing a “blind murder” in his statement before an Islamabad court.
The 17-year-old TikToker — with more than a million followers across various platforms — was shot twice inside her home in Sector G-13/1 on June 2, 2025, allegedly by Hayat.
Hayat (22), also known by his nickname “Kaka”, is a TikToker himself and had confessed to the murder. He claimed to be the victim’s friend.
During his statement recorded under Section 342 at the trial court of Judge Afzal Majoka today, Hayat denied all allegations, stating that he had no connection with the incident and never visited Yousaf’s residence.
In the previous hearing on Friday, Investigation Officer Fakhar Abbas informed the district and sessions court of Islamabad that the main suspect in the social media influencer’s murder case had confessed to the killing before a magistrate and helped police recover key evidence linked to the case.
However, Hayat, in today’s court hearing, maintained that there was no contact or dispute between them. He further alleged that Yousaf’s followers pressured police on social media, leading to his false implication, and that police later influenced his family by asserting that he was the culprit.
The accused further alleged that the probe was flawed, claiming that CCTV footage and witnesses were not properly produced before the court. He also accused the police of implicating him under pressure and alleged that no witness was produced by the investigation officer regarding taking Yousaf to hospital.
Hayat claimed he was not given proper legal representation during parts of the investigation and said his statements were recorded without his lawyers being present. He also rejected allegations of mobile phone theft and other related charges.
The accused added that he had no confidence in the court or the state counsel.
He further told the court that he was falsely implicated in a “planted case” and questioned the credibility of identification procedures, claiming inconsistencies in the investigation process. He added that he was in Faisalabad at the time of the incident.
Hayat further claimed that during the identification parade, all other accused were treated uniformly while he was made to wear different clothes, and said that other participants present at the time can testify that the parade was unfair.
He alleged that he was arrested on mere suspicion as both he and the victim were well-known TikTok personalities.
The accused also alleged that he was subjected to coercion at the police station and did not know what was written on the blank paper after his thumb impression was taken by the police.
Hayat also disputed forensic and location evidence presented against him, calling it inaccurate and inconsistent with the timeline of events. He maintained that all allegations were fabricated.
The court was told that he never confessed or made any revelation regarding the murder.
During the proceedings, the defence counsel repeatedly insisted that each submission should end by declaring the case false and fabricated, prompting the judge to intervene and remark that the court should not be dictated in that manner.
The hearing was later adjourned till Tuesday.

2026.5.19 Several ‘prominent names’ may emerge in Pinky case
KARACHI, 19 MAY (DNA) — Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Javed Alam Odho on Tuesday said that several prominent names could emerge during investigations into the alleged high-profile drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky case, urging citizens to cooperate with authorities in efforts against drug trafficking. Addressing a press conference in Karachi, the Sindh IGP said that a task force is being
“We are forming a task force.
People should provide information to assist authorities,” he said, and added the fight against narcotics is the responsibility of every citizen. The statement from the top provincial cop came days after Pinky was arrested from her apartment in Karachi’s Garden area. However, the suspect denied the claim, alleging that she was detained in Lahore 15 days before being transferred to Karachi. Besides narcotics, the suspect is also facing murder charges and is currently in police custody on physical remand.
In his presser, the IGP said multiple cases had already been registered against Pinky, including cases by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), adding that many individuals linked to the narcotics business could be identified during the probe. He said the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had been included in the investigation to examine banking transactions connected to the case, while the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) would also look into online drug sales.
The Sindh IGP said authorities were distinguishing between drug users and drug dealers, stressing that those involved in narcotics trafficking would not be spared. He revealed that police had arrested more than 1,000 criminals and seized 40 kilograms of crystal meth (ice) during ongoing operations. He said that Pinky mostly resided in Lahore and urged people not to glamorise the suspect.
Addressing the strict security present with Anmol during her court appearances, he emphasised that the police were keeping several “risks” in mind. “The nature of her business is such that there is a risk of many names emerging. One risk is that someone can harm her, so [investigations] do not proceed ahead,” he said. Anmol, during her court appearances, has alleged she was facing pressure from the police “to take names” of politicians and other influential persons.
Odho went on to cite police expertise, according to which suspects facing multiple cases remained “under stress”. “The objective is not only to protect others from them, but also to protect them from themselves,” he said. At the same time, he stressed, “We have not provided security to her as such; only what was appropriate and needed.”
During his media talk, the Sindh IG also emphasised that the police were “separating” drug users, from whom narcotics were recovered, and suppliers, who were buying drugs in bulk and circulating them ahead. He said that the latter were “more dangerous because they are also acting as suppliers and have a role in ruining society”.“We will not let them go under any circumstances,” he vowed.

2026.5.19 Medical examination of Anmol Pinky ordered after torture complaint
KARACHI: While a court on Monday remanded suspected cocaine dealer Anmol Pinky in police custody for four more days, she complained before a judge about maltreatment, saying she was facing pressure “to take names”.
On May 16, the alleged drug queenpin was remanded in police custody in two cases pertaining to murder and possession of narcotics.
On Monday, the police produced her before Judicial Magistrate (South) Kalsoom Mustafa at the Judicial Complex inside the Karachi central prison amid tight security and sought nine-day extension in her physical remand in a murder case.
Suspect Pinky informed the judge the she was allegedly subjected to torture and maltreatment in police custody by “not one, but many investigating officers (IOs)”.
When the judge asked her lawyer, Liaquat Ali Gabol, if he had filed an application for his client’s medical examination, she again alleged that she was being coerced to “take names”.
Speaking to her lawyer, she said that she was willing to be remanded for even 100 days. Thereafter, the IO restricted her from speaking, reminding her that she was in police custody.
As the situation got chaotic in the jam-packed courtroom during the remand proceeding, reporters were asked to leave the courtroom. They were later briefed by lawyers on the developments.
Her counsel submitted that Pinky had already been remanded in judicial custody in almost all other related cases.
He alleged that pressure was being exerted on his client to falsely implicate politicians, actors and other influential persons in the matter. He asked the court to send her to prison on judicial remand and order her medical examination.
On the other hand, public prosecutor Shakeel Abbasi submitted that she was involved in sale and supply of drugs through riders associated with delivery services, who were required to be examined and associated with investigation as witnesses in the present case.
The IO, Rashid Nazeer, stated that the custody was required for further questioning as she was involved in various cases.
While granting four-day extension in her physical remand, the magistrate directed the IO to produce suspect Pinky in court on May 22 along with case diaries and progress report without fail.
In her order, the magistrate order noted that the suspect was specifically nominated in the murder case and allegations against her appeared to be well-founded at this stage.
It also ordered the IO to ensure that suspect was interrogated in the presence of female police officials.
The magistrate also directed the police to produce the suspect before a woman medico-legal officer for medical examination in the light of her complaints of maltreatment and submit a report by May 22.
The court has also allowed an application of police to record the statement of the complainant of the murder case on May 21 in the judicial complex at central prison in view of security concerns.
Separately, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) filed an application before an additional district and sessions judge, seeking a copy of the police record in the narcotics case lodged against her.
The application noted that suspect’s arrest was required in a CTD case, in which her brother had been acquitted but she was an absconder.
Earlier in the day, a district judge had accepted a request of police about production of suspect Pinky for remand before a court at the Judicial Complex inside the central prison.
In another related development, the police filed nine revision applications before the district and sessions court (South) against an order of a judicial magistrate passed on May 16 denying her police remand.
The district court allowed four revision applications by setting aside the order of the magistrate while remaining five were withdrawn.
According to the prosecution, Anmol Pinky was arrested from her Garden apartment in a joint raid conducted by police and a civilian intelligence agency on May 12.

2026.5.17 Court drama as Pinky hurls veiled threats
Says ‘we are drowning, darling, we will drown everyone with us’
KARACHI: A not-so-veiled threat echoed through the City Courts on Saturday, as Anmol, alias Pinky, a high-profile suspect in several narcotics and murder cases appeared before several judges as the alleged inter-provincial drug network continues to unfold and spring surprises. She uttered, “We are drowning, darling, we will drown everyone with us.”
The statement, described in court circles as either a metaphorical outburst or a veiled threat, set the tone for a series of tense courtroom appearances in which Pinky repeatedly clashed with proceedings, raised allegations of custodial abuse, and drew strong reactions from police officials managing her production across different courts.
Pinky was produced before courts in District South, Central, and Malir under strict security arrangements, with female police personnel accompanying her throughout. She is facing a total of 16 FIRs registered in various police stations in the metropolis, including Gizri, Darakhshan, Baghdadi, Garden, SIU Central, and Sachal.
Of these, 14 cases relate to narcotics trafficking, one to murder, and another to illegal weapons possession, according to prosecution records presented in court.
During proceedings at the City Court, Pinky appeared visibly agitated upon being brought before the media. She raised her voice, alleging she was being tortured in custody, forced to name individuals, and threatened along with her family.
She claimed she had been arrested from Lahore nearly 20 days earlier and later transferred to Karachi police custody after an extended period of detention. She further alleged that false cases were being registered against her as part of coercive pressure.
Court officials maintained order and assured her that no harassment would take place inside the courtroom. She was also provided water during the proceedings as tensions escalated.
The prosecution informed the court that the accused is allegedly linked to an organised narcotics network operating across provincial boundaries. Investigators claimed that financial transactions worth millions – and in some accounts, billions of rupees – had been traced through digital payment systems connected to individuals associated with the case.
The investigation officer further stated that drugs recovered in certain cases were linked to leads provided during investigation, and that more arrests were expected as the probe expanded.
The defence strongly rejected these allegations, arguing that the accused was being falsely implicated and that no direct recovery had been made from her in key cases. Defence counsel also alleged that statements were being extracted under pressure during custody.
In District South, the court granted a two-day physical remand in a murder case while placing the accused Pinky on judicial remand in other connected FIRs. The court observed in its written order that initial evidence justified further investigation, though it remarked that no formal complaint of custodial torture was substantiated on record.
In District Central, the SIU produced the accused in a narcotics case and sought further physical remand. The defence opposed the request, citing procedural grounds and arguing that the accused had previously been declared a proclaimed offender under Section 512 of the CrPC, questioning the legality of repeated remand extensions.
After hearing arguments, the court granted remand with directions to the investigation to produce previous court orders and submit a detailed progress report.
Meanwhile, the Malir court sent the accused to judicial custody in a separate narcotics case registered at Sachal police station and directed police to submit a challan within 14 days. The prosecution has indicated it will challenge this order through revision proceedings.

2026.5.16 Drug Queenpin Anmol “Pinky”: The rise of a “Narco Network” and the political storm around it May 16, 2026
The arrest of alleged drug peddler Anmol “Pinky” has triggered one of the most sensational narcotics investigations in recent years, exposing what investigators describe as a sophisticated urban drug network operating across elite neighbourhoods, educational institutions and entertainment circles in Punjab.
What initially appeared to be a routine anti-narcotics operation has now evolved into a politically sensitive case after startling revelations allegedly made during interrogation, including claims about links with influential individuals, facilitators inside official circles and a growing synthetic drug trade targeting affluent youth.
Law enforcement agencies say the case has opened a window into the changing nature of Pakistan’s narcotics landscape — from traditional heroin trafficking routes to highly organised networks distributing crystal meth (“ice”), ecstasy pills, cocaine and designer drugs through social media platforms and private delivery systems. x1200

2026.5.16 After Anmol Pinky, another notorious Drug Dealer Ambreen ‘Guddi’ arrested from Hyderabad
KARACHI – The arrest of high-profile drug manufacturer Anmol Pinky sparked new controversy, and a major drug network was busted. Amid the high-profile probe, a female drug dealer, identified as Ambarin alias “Guddi”, has been arrested.
Guddi was allegedly involved in supplying narcotics directly to schools and colleges. According to police, the dramatic operation was carried out by the Task Force in Aliabad Colony, within the jurisdiction of Hatri Police Station, leading to the high-profile arrest.
Officials confirmed a large cache of narcotics was recovered from the suspect’s possession, including over 3 kilograms of hashish, and more than 23 grams of heroin.
Police sources further revealed that the accused is not new to the system, as she already faces six criminal cases registered across multiple police stations and the Excise Department, highlighting a long-standing pattern of alleged drug trafficking activity.
Authorities described the arrest as part of an ongoing crackdown on drug networks targeting youth and educational institutions. Meanwhile, separate courtroom developments added further intensity to ongoing criminal proceedings in Karachi.
In Baghdadi police station murder case, the court has extended the physical remand of accused Anmol Pinky by two more days, directing that she be sent to jail on judicial remand in other pending cases.
The court has also demanded a progress report at the next hearing, signaling continued judicial scrutiny of the high-profile case. Reports confirm that Anmol Pinky was earlier produced in the City Court in connection with 15 different criminal cases, underlining the scale of allegations against her.
Authorities placed Anmol Pinky and several other individuals on PNIL (Provisional National Identification List). The list also includes the names of her two former husbands and two brothers, widening the scope of the investigation.

2026.5.16 Karachi court grants ‘drug dealer’ Pinky’s police remand until May 22
The prosecution told the court that it would challenge the judicial remand order
A Karachi court on Saturday granted physical remand of alleged female drug lord Anmol alias “Pinky” until May 22 in a drugs case.
The order was issued by the Judicial Magistrate (Central), handing the accused over to police for further interrogation.
Separately, the Judicial Magistrate (South) extended the physical remand of the suspect by two days in an another case and directed police to produce her again on Monday. The same court also sent the suspect to jail on judicial remand in 13 other cases registered in District South.
Meanwhile, a court in Malir ordered that Anmol alias Pinky be sent to jail on judicial remand in a case registered at Sachal Police Station. The court directed the investigating officer to submit the charge sheet within 14 days.
The prosecution told the court that it would challenge the judicial remand order.
The suspect was brought to different courts in Karachi with her face covered. During the proceedings, she alleged that police subjected her to torture, registered false cases against her, and brought her from Lahore to Karachi. She claimed that her former husband was behind the cases, saying he had divorced her three months ago.
The suspect also alleged that the house from where narcotics were allegedly recovered had remained closed for the past 25 years.
During the hearing, the investigating officer told the court that the accused was “clever” and repeatedly changing her statements. He further claimed that police recovered contact numbers of around 800 individuals from her mobile phone and uncovered financial transactions worth millions of rupees.
The officer alleged that the suspect’s national identity card was blocked and that she used SIM cards issued in the names of ordinary citizens. He requested further remand to arrest alleged riders and facilitators linked to the case.

2026.5.16 Anmol did not complain of maltreatment in police custody, court says
The court granted two-day physical remand of the suspect
A judicial magistrate in Karachi has issued a written order of today’s hearing in the murder case registered at Baghdadi police station against alleged drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky.
According to the written judgment, the court noted that the suspect did not complain of maltreatment while being in police custody.
The investigating officer sought physical remand, arguing that the suspect was allegedly operating a large drug network across Pakistan and further interrogation was necessary to trace other accomplices. He also claimed that narcotics supplied by the accused were recovered from a deceased individual in the case.
The court record stated that the defence counsel opposed the physical remand, arguing that the suspect had been in police custody for the past 22 days and was being subjected to forced or fabricated statements. The defence also claimed that the labels found on drug packets were fake and that the suspect had no direct link to such recoveries.
However, the court observed that the case pertains to murder and, based on initial evidence, further investigation is required. The order noted that “prima facie evidence exists against the suspect”.
The court granted two-day physical remand of Anmol alias Pinky to Baghdadi police and directed that she be produced before the relevant court on May 18.

2026.5.14 New revelations contradict Karachi police claim about Pinky’s arrest
KARACHI (Dunya News) – New revelations concerning the arrest of alleged drug trafficker Anmol alias Pinky have contradicted the Karachi Police claim that they had arrested the suspect, but sources have revealed that the suspect was arrested from Lahore by a secret agency.
The sources familiar with the development have revealed that high profile drug peddler, Anmol alias Pinky, was apprehended from Nawab Town of Lahore and handed over to Karachi Police as she was wanted in drug trafficking cases in Karachi.
According to sources, a secret agency working on drugs arrested her from Lahore, where she was controlling her network functioning across the country. Her location was traced through her WhatsApp she was using for instructions to her accomplices.
On the other hand, a video featuring Karachi Police raiding a flat in Garden to arrest the suspect has gone viral.
The video shows male and female police personnel calmly reached doorstep of the flat and before they knocked the door, the suspect herself opened the door to let the law enforcers enter the flat.
They searched the flat and allegedly recovered weapons and drugs from a room of the flat, and arrested the suspect. She was allegedly running the network in Lahore hiding from police, but was arrested by a secret agency, and handed over to Karachi Police.

2026.5.12 ‘Narcotics queen’ Pinky remanded to Karachi jail
KARACHI – A local court in Karachi on Tuesday remanded narcotics trafficking suspect Anmol alias Pinky to judicial custody in connection with drug recovery and illegal weapons cases registered by Garden Police.
The suspect was presented before the Judicial Magistrate South after her arrest during what officials described as an intelligence-based operation carried out on the directives of security agencies. Investigators told the court that two packets of hashish and other narcotics-related material had been recovered from her possession.
According to the investigating officer, the seized drugs were valued at more than Rs1.5 million. Police sought a 14-day physical remand, arguing that further interrogation was required to trace the wider network allegedly linked to the suspect.
Cases against the accused were registered at Garden Police Station under narcotics and illegal arms charges.
The court hearing came amid growing attention surrounding the arrest of Anmol alias Pinky, whom law enforcement officials described as a high-profile figure in Karachi’s synthetic drug trade. Authorities claimed she had long been under surveillance and was wanted in multiple cases linked to the trafficking and distribution of narcotics.
Police officials maintained that the suspect was involved in the production and supply of high-grade cocaine and synthetic drugs in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. During the raid, authorities claimed to have recovered a mobile drug laboratory and a fully operational cocaine production unit.
Investigators stated that the seizure included one kilogram of semi-prepared cocaine, more than 15 cocaine capsules and chemical substances including ketamine, ephedrine, methamphetamine and lidocaine. Police also recovered a pistol during the operation.
Officials further stated that the accused manufactured premium variants of cocaine, referred to as “White Coke” and “Golden Coke”, which were reportedly sold at prices significantly higher than ordinary cocaine circulating in the illegal market.
According to law enforcement sources, the suspect had built an organised narcotics distribution network operating in affluent areas of Karachi. The network allegedly supplied expensive synthetic drugs including crystal meth, cocaine, ecstasy and party pills.
Investigators further said that the operation extended beyond residential neighbourhoods, with suspected links to drug supply channels targeting educational institutions. Authorities described the case as one of the most significant recent crackdowns on the city’s synthetic narcotics trade.
The accused had also reportedly introduced branded packaging for drug deliveries, with boxes allegedly carrying markings associated with her identity. Officials believe the branding was used to create recognition within the illegal supply chain.
Authorities said several raids had previously been conducted in an attempt to arrest the suspect before the latest operation led to her detention. Investigators are continuing interrogations and expect further disclosures that could help uncover the broader narcotics network allegedly connected to the case.

2026.5.15 Pakistan unveils national framework to end child marriage
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has unveiled a national framework aimed at ending child marriage, the country’s information ministry said on Thursday, in an effort to strengthen protection for minors.
Pakistan has one of the highest rates of child marriage in South Asia, particularly in rural and low-income communities, with rights organizations warning that early marriage exposes girls to higher risks of domestic violence, school dropouts, early pregnancies and long-term health complications.
The Pakistani human rights ministry finalized the ‘National Framework to End Child Marriage in Pakistan’ in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Pakistan at a high-level two-day workshop in Islamabad.
“Child marriage remains a fundamental violation of human rights that robs children, particularly girls rights of their health, education, and safety,” Parliamentary Secretary for Human Rights Saba Sadiq said in a statement shared by the information ministry, highlighting links between child marriage and gender-based violence.
“These interconnected issues must be confronted simultaneously to achieve lasting social change.”
The development came weeks after Pakistan’s Punjab province passed a new law banning marriage under the age of 18 for both boys and girls, and introduced tougher penalties for child marriage, child trafficking and abuse linked to underage unions.
Sindh was the first province in Pakistan to set the minimum marriage age at 18 for both boys and girls through legislation passed in 2013, while other provinces have largely retained older legal frameworks setting the minimum age for girls at 16.
Sadiq urged that other provinces as well as Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir regions should follow Sindh and Punjab to harmonize the legal age of marriage in all territories of Pakistan.

2026.5.15 Death penalty upheld in Wajeeha Swati case
LHC dismisses appeal of man convicted of US citizen’s killing over property dispute
A division bench of the Rawalpindi bench of the Lahore High Court dismissed the appeal of Rizwan Habib, convicted of brutally murdering his former wife, US citizen Wajeeha Swati, over possession of valuable property and other assets worth around Rs1 billion in Morgah, Rawalpindi, and upheld his death sentence.
The court observed that the former husband had murdered his ex-wife in an extremely brutal manner and that complete evidence was available against him. The bench ruled that he was not entitled to any concession and should be hanged till death. Following the verdict, the convict was shifted to the death cell at Adiala Jail.
According to details, Rizwan Habib had contracted a second marriage with Wajeeha Swati by luring her with promises of a profitable business venture. A few months later, their relations deteriorated and the US citizen obtained divorce.
Taking advantage of her stay in the United States, the accused allegedly occupied her four-kanal bungalow in Morgah and started transferring other plots in his name.
When the former wife approached courts against him, the accused allegedly called her back to Pakistan on the pretext of a reconciliation agreement and returning all her property. However, upon her return in October 2021, he murdered her the same night.
Her body was wrapped in a carpet and transported from Rawalpindi to Kohat, where it was buried in a pit dug in the courtyard of a house.
The accused later spread reports that the woman had gone missing and even filed a petition seeking her recovery. During an investigation by the Morgah police, he confessed to the murder after three months, leading to the recovery of the decomposed body from a village in Kohat.
Both Pakistani and US forensic laboratories confirmed the identity of the body as Wajeeha Swati.
A sessions court had awarded him the death sentence last year, but the High Court ordered a retrial on merit. Additional Sessions Judge Afzal Majoka again awarded the death sentence, which was challenged in the High Court.
The appeal was dismissed by the Rawalpindi bench.
The High Court observed that the convict had committed a heinous crime and the death sentence was justified.

2026.5.12 Bomb rigged to rickshaw explodes in Pakistan bazaar, killing 9 and wounding more than 2 dozen others
PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — A bomb rigged to a rickshaw exploded in a bazaar in northwest Pakistan on Tuesday, killing at least nine people and wounding more than two dozen others, police said, in the latest sign of escalating violence in the region bordering Afghanistan.
The attack took place in Lakki Marwat, a district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, local police chief Azmat Ullah said. He said that two traffic police officers and a woman were among those killed.
Ullah provided no further details but said traffic police officers were apparently the target of the attack. The bombing also damaged nearby shops. Most of the dead and wounded were passersby, he said.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the bombing.
Suspicion in such attacks often falls on the Pakistani Taliban, known as Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, which has intensified its campaign against Pakistani security forces in recent years. The group is separate from but allied with Afghanistan’s Taliban government.
However, the Pakistani Taliban denied involvement in Tuesday’s attack, saying in a statement that it had learned about the bombing but was not behind it.
The latest attack came days after 15 police officers were killed in a suicide bombing and gun assault on a security post in the nearby Bannu district on Saturday, prompting Islamabad to summon a senior Afghan diplomat to lodge a formal complaint.
Pakistan on Monday blamed that attack on Afghanistan-based Pakistani Taliban.
On Tuesday, Afghan Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, in a post on X, rejected Pakistan’s claim that the recent attack in the Bannu district was planned in Afghanistan, calling it baseless.
“The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan believes that problems can be resolved through understanding, mutual respect and genuine cooperation, rather than accusations, threats and emotional reactions,” he said. Mujahid reiterated that Kabul’s position remains that Afghan territory will not be used against any country, and that no one will be allowed to engage in activities that undermine regional security and stability.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned Tuesday’s attack and conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims.
In a statement, he said the government and all relevant institutions were committed to eliminating terrorism and would not allow militants to obstruct peace and development in the country. He directed authorities to swiftly complete the investigation, identify those responsible and ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.
Pakistani authorities have long accused Afghanistan’s Taliban government of sheltering militants. Kabul has denied the allegation, saying it does not allow militants to use Afghan soil to launch attacks against other countries.
Pakistan has witnessed a surge in militant violence in recent years, straining relations with Afghanistan.
The Pakistani Taliban and other militant groups have grown more emboldened since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in Kabul in 2021.
Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have persisted, including fighting that has killed hundreds of people since late February. In early April, the two sides held peace talks mediated by China. However, sporadic cross-border clashes have continued, though at a lower intensity than before. x1200

2026.2.17 Military says 11 security forces personnel killed in attack on checkpost in northwest Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: A militant attack on a joint checkpost of security forces and law enforcement agencies in northwest Pakistan this week killed eleven security personnel and a child, the military’s media wing said on Tuesday, marking the latest in a series of attacks in a region bordering Afghanistan.
Pakistan has witnessed a steady rise in attacks in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan in 2021, with most violence targeting police and security forces in former tribal districts along the border.
Islamabad says the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militant group has reorganized across the frontier and operates from safe havens inside Afghanistan, a charge Kabul rejects, insisting it does not allow its territory to be used against other countries. Pakistan also accuses India of supporting the TTP and Baloch separatist militant outfits, a charge New Delhi has always denied.
Pakistani military’s media wing said the latest attack took place at a joint checkpost for security forces and law enforcement personnel in the northwestern Bajaur district. It added that the attack was carried out by the “Fitna al Khwarij,” a term the military frequently uses to describe the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) or Pakistani Taliban group.
“In their desperation, the attackers rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the perimeter wall,” the Inter-Services Public Relations, the military’s media wing, said.”Due to blast impact infrastructure at checkpost collapsed, resultantly eleven brave sons of soil rendered the ultimate sacrifice and embraced shahadat [martyrdom].”
The ISPR said militants’ attempts to breach the checkpost security was thwarted by security forces. It said the attack was repelled and in the process, security forces killed 12 militants.
The military said civilian residential buildings within close proximity of the checkpost also suffered “severe destruction” due to the explosion. One girl was killed while seven others, including women and children, were injured in the attack.
The ISPR said security forces were carrying out sanitization operations in the area to hunt down any other militants.
“The sacrifices of our brave soldiers and innocent civilians further reinforce our unwavering commitment to safeguarding our nation at all costs,” the ISPR vowed.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister’s office condemned the suicide bombing in a statement.
“The martyrdom of security personnel and a child in the terrorist attack is extremely tragic,” the statement said, adding that emergency services had been instructed to speed up rescue efforts.
Districts along Pakistan’s border with Afghanistan, including Bajaur and Bannu, have repeatedly been targeted in bombings and assaults on security checkpoints since a fragile ceasefire between Islamabad and the TTP collapsed in late 2022.
Security forces continue to conduct intelligence-based operations in the region, but patrols and outposts remain frequent targets.

2026.2.16 Court issues Aleema Khan’s non-bailable arrest warrant over repeated absence

RAWALPINDI, An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Monday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Aleema Khan after she failed to appear for a hearing in a case registered over the November 26 protest.

The court rejected the application filed by the sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, seeking an exemption from attendance, ruling that there was no reasonable justification for her absence.

ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah conducted the hearing.

The judge observed that the trial had already been delayed and noted that witnesses had been required to appear 37 times due to Aleema’s “irresponsibility”.

The court also directed the Rawal superintendent of police (SP) to ensure compliance with the arrest warrant, and adjourned further proceedings in the case until tomorrow.

This is not the first time orders for Aleema’s arrest and production have been issued.

The Rawalpindi ATC has released multiple arrest warrants recently over her repeated absence during the proceedings in the same case.

The most recent was issued on February 2, when her lawyer contended that Aleema would not appear in court until her bank accounts and identity card are unfrozen.

However, the court had directed the police to arrest and present her, while the bank account and identity card could remain blocked

Her computerised national identity card (CNIC) and passport had been blocked by the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) in October last year in compliance with a court order.

The case pertains to the 2024 November 26 protest in the garrison town, in which Aleema and 10 others are facing charges.

On November 26, 2024, PTI supporters entered Islamabad in defiance of a ban on public gatherings and clashed with law enforcement agencies near D-Chowk. Police used teargas to disperse the crowd.

The former ruling party’s three-day protests were abruptly ended after fierce clashes erupted between the law enforcers and the protesters.

The protest was aimed at building pressure on the government to release the PTI founder. The 71-year-old cricketer-turned-politician has been behind bars since August 2023 after he was booked in multiple cases, ranging from corruption to terrorism, since his ouster from power via the opposition’s no-trust motion in April 2022.

During questioning, the woman told officers that crushing financial difficulties and deep frustration over her family’s poverty had driven her to the brink. She and her children were later moved to the Raiwind police station. Authorities confirmed that the family originally belongs to the Shera Kot area of Lahore.
In a separate incident in the provincial capital, a first-semester pharmacy student identified as Fatima attempted suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of a private university building. She was immediately taken to the intensive care unit of a private hospital affiliated with the university.
According to university sources, her brother had dropped her off on campus earlier that morning. The incident reportedly occurred at the same spot where another student had previously tried to take his life.
Following the episode, the university administration sealed all entrances and announced an indefinite suspension of academic activities.
Last month, a student of the same institution, Owais Sultan, died after jumping from the fourth floor of the building. The incident took place on December 19 at around 8:10 am.
A fellow student, Hamza, claimed that Owais had been denied entry to a classroom by a teacher. After sitting outside for some time, he allegedly leapt from the building. Classmates said he had appeared visibly distressed on several occasions and had a short attendance record.
Hamza further alleged that Owais was under intense mental strain due to being barred from sitting examinations and claimed that the university administration exerted additional pressure on students over fees and related matters.

2026.1.17 Suspect accused by police of abusing ‘over 100 children’ arrested in Karachi

Police link seven registered cases over five years to the suspect through forensic review
CCTV and geo-fencing helped trace prime suspect and his accomplice, leading to arrests

ISLAMABAD: Karachi police said on Saturday they arrested a suspect accused of sexually abusing “over 100 children,” describing the case as a major breakthrough in a long-running investigation, while official records examined so far document seven registered cases linked to the accused.

In a statement issued on Friday, the office of the Additional Inspector General of Police (IGP) Karachi said the arrest of the suspect and his accomplice was a significant achievement, praising the police for taking action after identifying a pattern across multiple cases reported over several years.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation for Karachi’s East district, Muhammad Usman Sadozai, said police began connecting the cases after receiving a letter from a DNA laboratory detailing seven cases of sexual abuse involving minor boys reported between 2020 and 2025, all allegedly linked to the same perpetrator.

“When we examined the letter further, a clear pattern emerged across all seven cases,” Sadozai told Arab News over the phone, adding that the incidents occurred between 6 p.m. and midnight, mostly on weekends, and involved children being lured to the banks of the Malir River.

Police said CCTV footage and geo-fencing were used to trace the movements of the prime suspect and his accomplice, leading to their arrest. Three of the affected children have identified the suspects, according to investigators.
The victims are aged between 10 and 14, Sadozai said.

While the Additional IGP’s office described the suspect as being involved in the abuse of over 100 children, police records reviewed so far show that seven first information reports (FIRs) have been registered over the past five years at police stations including Sharafi Goth, Zaman Town, Qur’angi Industrial Area, Mehmoodabad and Defense.

All the FIRs invoke Section 377 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which deals with “unnatural offenses,” according to an order dated Jan. 6 establishing a special investigation team. Some cases also include additional charges such as kidnapping, criminal intimidation, bodily injury and attempted commission of an offense, reflecting varying levels of severity.

The Additional IGP said the protection of children was a top priority and vowed that those involved in such crimes would face the strictest punishment under the law, announcing commendation certificates and cash rewards for the police team involved.
